My mind is in dilemma – 1

As I have penned down my thoughts about why I would not vote in the General Elections in India, I was surprised to observe that there are many people like me who DO NOT wish to vote for a government which does not help them in any way. As per the latest estimates, only 50% of people from Mumbai & Maharashtra have voted. I am sure the numbers would be similar in other states, if not less than 50%.

The big question is: WHY? As I have also posted this on various forums, I have received many responses stating that Voting is the basic privilege given to us by the constitution; we should vote for the leader of our choice; we should bring only genuine leaders to power; we should wake up and take control in our hands; Jaago Re; etc. etc. Well, I do not deny any of these claims. In fact, I respect all these opinions, but I am disappointed by the entire government and the Election system.
